Ticketing
Where do I purchase Amtrak tickets?
Amtrak ticketing is currently located right off The Great Hall right next to the entrance to the Metropolitan Lounge.
Where to do I purchase Metra tickets?
Metra ticketing is located centrally on the Concourse level of the station. Tickets can also be purchased through the mobile Ventra app. A penalty applies when buying tickets from onboard personnel. More information can be found on the Metra page in the Travel section.
Where do I purchase Greyhound tickets?

Where should I wait for my Amtrak train?
Amtrak passengers can wait in the Great Hall where their train will be called and boarded 45 minutes prior to departure.
The Metropolitan Lounge is available exclusively to Amtrak’s Sleeping Car, Guest Rewards Select Plus, or Select Executive members. The plush surroundings are enhanced by high speed internet access, work stations, television, children’s play space, luggage storage services, and even a locker room with showers available. It's the perfect place to recharge before, after, or in between train travel.
Where are the tracks located?
Odd Numbered Tracks are located in the North Concourse.
Even Numbered Tracks are located in the South Concourse.
Baggage & Shipping
Where do I check and pick up my baggage?
Baggage Check is located on the Concourse level. The cost to check a bag is $10 per bag.
Baggage Claim is located in the South Concourse.
Can I store my bags at the station?
Yes. Storage in parcel check is available for $10 per bag.
Can I bring my bike aboard an Amtrak or Metra train?

Lost & Found
I lost an item on an Amtrak train. How do I find it?
- Your date(s) of travel
- Your departure and arrival stations
- Your train number(s)
- Detailed information regarding the lost item (model/serial number, brand, color, size, etc.)
After filling out the online form, you will receive an email with your Lost Item ID tracking number. Our team will continue to look for your item and provide you with regular email and/or text updates (if opted in) on the status.

Amtrak Lost & Found at Chicago Union Station can be reached at chicagolostandfound@amtrak.com. If you've lost or misplaced an item on an Amtrak train or in a station, you will need to submit a lost item report on the Amtrak website.

From the South and Southwest
- Take I-94 towards Chicago.
- Take the I-290 W/Eisenhower Expy exit toward West Suburbs/Congress Pkwy/Chicago Loop.
- Merge onto Eisenhower Exwy E/I-290 toward Congress Pkwy/Chicago Loop.
- Take the exit toward Canal St.
- Turn left onto W. Harrison St. and then left onto S. Canal St.
- Union Station is located at the corner of Canal and Jackson streets.
- Entrance to the self-park parking garage is located on S. Canal St. between Van Buren & Jackson on the left side of the street.
From the West
- I-88 E becomes Eisenhower Exwy E/I-290.
- Take the exit toward Canal St.
- Turn left onto W. Harrison St. and then left onto S. Canal St.
- Union Station is located at the corner of Canal and Jackson streets.
- Entrance to the self-park parking garage is located on S. Canal St. between Van Buren & Jackson on the left side of the street.
From the North and Northwest
- Take I-94 towards Chicago.
- Take the East Jackson Blvd/300 South Exit (Exit 51G).
- Turn left onto Jackson Blvd and then left onto S. Canal St.
- Union Station is located at the corner of Canal and Jackson streets.
- Entrance to the self-park parking garage is located on S. Canal St. between Van Buren & Jackson on the left side of the street.
From the South Side along Lake Shore Drive
- Take South Lake Shore Drive north to downtown.
- Exit at Jackson Boulevard and head west 2 blocks to Michigan Avenue.
- Turn right (North) on Michigan Avenue and go 1 block to Adams Street.
- Turn Left (West) onto Adams Street to Clinton Street (10 blocks).
- Turn left on Clinton (South) to Jackson Street.
- Turn Left (East) on Jackson to Canal Street and Union Station.
- Union Station is located at the corner of Canal and Jackson streets.
- Entrance to the self-park parking garage is located on S. Canal St. between Van Buren & Jackson on the left side of the street.
Which CTA bus should I take to get to.
- Union Station: There are a number of bus routes that directly serve Chicago Union Station, including #7, 60, 124, 125, 126, 151, 156 and 157 (plus routes 1, 28, 121 and 125 during weekday rush and route 130 mid-May through Labor Day). - Navy Pier: Catch the 124 bus at Stop H on the corner of Canal St. and Adams St.
- Wrigley Field: Catch the 151 bus from the Transit Center at 320 S. Canal St.
- Lakeview/Boystown: Catch the 156 bus from the Transit Center at 320 S. Canal St.
- Millennium Park: Catch the 151 bus from the Transit Center to State St.
