Article June 7, 2024SEIU 1021 members packed a room at the San Francisco union hall on Tuesday, June 4, for an exclusive event. The town hall featured the top five candidates running to become San Francisco’s next mayor.
Article June 4, 2024With strong turnout, SEIU 1021 members in the San Francisco Citywide (“Miscellaneous”) bargaining unit voted by 91% to ratify the new three-year agreement won through a fierce contract campaign this year.
Members voted throughout the month of May, and votes were counted at the San Francisco union hall on May 30.

Article May 24, 2024San Francisco District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safaí joined nurses, 911 dispatchers, and other essential city workers outside of San Francisco General Hospital on Tuesday, May 21, to announce a ballot measure to address the city’s shortage of first responders.
Article May 21, 2024Registered nurses from across San Francisco Department of Public Health gathered at their union hall on May 17 to count ballots that asked members whether to allow their contract negotiations team to authorize the bargaining team to call a strike. The results: A 99.5% landslide in favor.
That’s because SFDPH management had refused to take meaningful action to address chronic staffing undermining patient care.

The bargaining team has voted to recommend this agreement to members for ratification. Please see schedules for informational meetings and ratification voting below.
Article April 30, 2024Thursday, April 25, SFMTA parking control officers, station agents, and car cleaners rallied outside SFMTA headquarters. They are still in tough contract negotiations fighting for a fair contract, and one of their priorities is making sure SFMTA workers are safe on the job — and have input into important decisions that affect their work.
Article April 30, 2024Registered nurses with San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), Laguna Honda Hospital, and SF’s community clinics say tension is high, risk is up, and morale is low. They rallied outside of SFGH on April 23 against unsafe working conditions then boarded a bus to storm the SFDPH Health Commission meeting. They delivered 2,000 “assignment despite objection” forms documenting how short staffing is leading to serious risk to both patients and hospital workers.
